Nigella Seeds/ Kalonji

Also known as ‘Kalonji’ or ‘black onion seeds’, nigella is used in India and the Middle East as a spice or a condiment.  It has an earthy, slightly smoky flavour when toasted. The seeds are used whole and in Middle Eastern countries and often sprinkled onto breads.  Try it with roasted vegetables, in stews, curries or sprinkled in salads.
