Liquorice powder

Made from ground liquorice root, this powder is a deliciously different addition to the spice cupboard and can be used in both sweet and savoury cooking. It is very popular nowadays in baking, and can also be used in ice cream and to give a twist to a crème brulee. In savoury cooking, it can often be found in Chinese 5 spice, and is also used in Indian cooking to intensify fennel and aniseed flavours.
