Saffron, Afghanistan

New to our range of saffron is this wonderful Grade A variety from Afghanistan. It is recognisable by its long strands and deep colour, which mean it is stronger and more powerful than the other saffrons we offer. It is harvested and processed by hand in the Herat region of Afghanistan, and is a totally sustainable product sourced from a small number of saffron farmers, another guarantee of quality.

Afghan saffron can be used in biryani, paella and other rice dishes, and also in classic recipes such as Bouillabaisse; because this is a premium saffron, a little goes a long way, so just a few strands will give great results. Guaranteed to give the best colour, flavour and aroma, this saffron should always have a place in your spice cupboard!
