Onion Powder

Onion powder is made from dehydrated ground onions and is a wonderful compliment to many foods.  It can be used in recipes that call for fresh onions although the flavour the may not be as intense as the fresh produce but it is a practical replacement.  It is often mixed with other spices to make delicious blends.  Excellent as a dry rub seasoning or as a marinade, add a sprinkle to sauces and gravies.  If using as a substitute for fresh onion, 1 tablespoon of onion powder is equal to 1 medium onion.  Keep airtight and in a cool place as this powder will harden up if not stored correctly.
