About this product
Pequin Chillies – Small but Mighty South American Fire
Native to South America, Pequin chillies (also known as Chile Pequeño) may be tiny, but they deliver a bold, complex heat that’s not for the faint-hearted. Measuring between 30,000–60,000 Scoville Heat Units, they’re up to 10 times hotter than jalapeños, with a vibrant, fruity flavour and subtle smokiness that make them truly special.
Traditionally used in Mexican salsas, vinegars, and hot sauces, these chillies are also perfect for:
-
Infusing oils or spirits
-
Spicing up beans, soups, and tomato sauces
-
Crushed and scattered over pizza, pasta or grilled meats
Just a few go a long way. Lightly toast to bring out their aromatic depth, or soak in warm water to soften before blending.
Ingredients: 100% dried Pequin chillies
Origin: Equador
For the adventurous palate and the chilli purist alike.
