Raspberry Salt

New to our ever-growing range of ‘designer’ salts is this delightful fusion of sea salt and sharp raspberry. It goes particularly well with anything that has an acidic character, for instance vinegar, which means it is great for making salad dressings which will burst with flavour. It also gets on very well with chilli, particularly the smokier varieties like chipotle and ancho, so is very good added to a Mexican salsa. Raspberry salt can be used in sauces for duck and game, and it is lovely sprinkled over a fruit salad – try combining mango and melon with a sprinkling of raspberry salt and a little powdered ginger for a real treat. Cocktails would be another use for this salt, in particular it will give a Margarita a delicious twist, and finally raspberry salt is amazing added to a salted caramel sauce or ice cream.
