Black Peppercorns, Sri Lanka

These black peppercorns are grown in the Matale area of Sri Lanka, and have a flavour which is fragrant, bold and spicy. This makes it perfect for using in dishes where an immediate pepper hit is necessary, such as pepper sauce, and it is an ideal pepper for using in curry dishes such as Sambar or Madras, where its character is bold enough to stand up to the other spicy flavours. It also makes a great table condiment for those who like their pepper to pack a punch. And for something a little left-field, try grinding a little of this over fresh strawberries – different, but delicious!
